Morning Blues

Morning blues bring me down
Sad that i couldn't hold on to the dreams
Realities brutal awakening leaves me bruised
I'm covered in your scars
The brilliant awakening leaves me blinded
weeping as i struggle for breath
Composure far from sight, these tears wont cease
Emotion strong, its wrapped around my heart like barbed wire
with each breath the stems cut deeper
Letting more emotion flow
like black rivers to the floor
Solace only lasts as long as im asleep
Where i can pretend everything is as it should be
No more heart ache for either of us
the only emotion visible is that of love
I lock hands with you, and wish to lock lips
Just as i lean in, we are pulled apart
my eyes open, my heart sinks
